My Story
Coach Malachi Hernandez has his roots in Diamond Bar where he grew up playing before making the jump to club soccer and eventually to academy soccer where he spent years training with the best coaches Chivas USA, LA Galaxy, and Arsenal FC US Academy (now Sporting California) could offer. Coach Malachi’s playing experience earned him the captain armband at Rio Hondo College where he would lead the team for two years winning one league title, SCC-North All First Team 21’, and SCC-North All Second team 22’ in his two seasons at Rio Hondo. Following his time as a player, Hernandez spent one season as a volunteer coach for Rio Hondo. Hernandez has also spent several years in the High School scene, spending 3 seasons as an assistant coach at Walnut High School, where he would help them earn their first CIF appearance in 4 years, and is currently at Mountain View High School where he would win his first league title as an Assistant Coach. Hernandez’ playing and coaching background offers athletes an insight on what it is to play at the highest level and help them find their potential as players.
